Dreamland Online Review

Dreamland Online, a 3D side-scrolling MMORPG developed by IGG today announced that the highly anticipated and spoken Free to play mmo game begins the closed beta now. The game features anime-styled characters, and Maplestroy-like graphics and gameplay.

Dreamland features the usual quests and class system set in a land threatened by the Evil Fog, which brought plagues, and a people fighting back with the help of the Hero Faith, a powerful gift bestowed upon them. The game features cartoony graphics, and plays as a 3D sidescrolling platformer. There will be player homes and crafting, an elaborate pet system (pets will be able to assist in PvP and quests), and many detailed storyline missions. PvP is a big part of the game as well, with several available modes.

Dreamland Online offers players a lush, vibrant world brought to life with 3D rendering technology, charming, attractive character designs and a fun, well developed pet system. Dreamland also operates upon intricate systems that offer rewarding experiences for players of every age, gender and playing style. For instance, PK enthusiasts will find the robust PvP system a solid platform for intense and competitive battles; for story lovers, there are extensive quests with detailed storylines that will bring significant depth to Dreamland's game plot; whereas the unique Homestead system gives creative players a chance to create and personalize a home of their own.

The global version of free-to-play Dreamland is set for release in 2010 April.

Dreamland Online is a 3D side scrolling fantasy MMORPG that closely resembles THQ's Dragonica Online and Outspark's Wind Slayer. Perhaps the game's most unique aspect is its in depth pet system, as pets are a major component of the game and assist players in everything from combat to questing to PvP. Unfortunately though, the game doesn't deviate too much from already established side scrolling games like MapleStory and LaTale, as the game doesn't introduce anything new to the genre. Even though Dreamland Online isn't exactly revolutionary, those looking for a solid side scrolling MMORPG will certainly find some substance in Dreamland Online. The game's starting classes are:

Warrior - Like all other MMORPGs, Warriors in Dreamland Online are the primary ‘tanking' class. They have a large pool of hitpoints and defensive capabilities but only deal lack luster damage. They can become either a Fighter or a Knight at level 10.

Stalker - Stalkers in Dreamland Online are essentially the same as the generic ‘thief' archetype. They are quick and agile which allows them to deal lots of damage in melee range. They can become either a Rogue or an Assassin at level 10.

Mage – Mages are the primary offensive spell casting class in Dreamland Online. They can deal incredible amounts of damage but are extremely weak in melee combat. They can become either a Necromancer or a Warlock at level 10.

Hunter - Hunters are the generic ‘archer' class in Dreamland Online. They specialize in dealing maximum damage from a distance, but are incredibly vulnerable in melee range. They can become either an Archer or a Ranger at level 10.
